Florida Motorcycle Insurance

The simple fact is that no matter how good a bike rider you are, there are automobile drivers who do not pay attention to you on the road. What you choose to wear in order to protect yourself is your choice, but you need a good insurance policy to protect you should the unfortunate happen. There are several insurance coverages that are important to understand and consider.

Damage to your Motorcycle
Collision: A collision involving your bike almost always means damage to your motorcycle. And that’s just what this coverage is for. It typically covers damages to your motorcycle that result from a collision with another object, which could include another car or motorcycle, a tree, or a building. Comprehensive: covers your bike if it's damaged by, flooding, vandalism , theft or if you hit an animal.

Injuries to you or your passengers
Personal Injury Protection: If you're hurt in an accident, or worse, expenses could add up faster than you imagine. That's where this coverage can help, with reimbursements for medical and hospital expense and lost wages.

Medical Payments: This typically covers reasonable and necessary medical expenses that are the result of any injury to you or your passengers. Some examples of expenses that might be covered include ambulance, hospital, x-ray, dental, and surgical

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury. This coverage typically covers you for injuries that are the result of the negligence of another driver. If that other driver has no insurance or is underinsured then UM coverage is vital. This coverage pays medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering if the injury should prove permanent. Any injury attorney will advise that nobody should be without UM coverage.

Damage and injuries to other property and persons
Property Damage Liability: If you're at fault in an accident and cause damage to others’ property, Property Damage Liability Coverage typically covers damages that result from the damage to another person’s property when you are at fault. Bodily Injury Liability: If you're at fault in a crash, it might be your responsibility to cover the medical bills for your passenger or the other driver. In a case like that, Bodily Injury Liability typically covers damages that result from the injury or death of another driver or a guest passenger on your motorcycle when you are at fault. Some of the things you may be liable for include medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering. You can pay an additional premium so that Bodily Injury Liability also applies to guest passengers.)
